Michele Buck-Romero Joins David Bean in Serving the Campaign for Equal Justice

Michele_Buck_Romero.Square(1)We are pleased to announce that Michele Buck-Romero has joined David Bean in serving on the Mid-size Firm Committee for the Campaign for Equal Justice (CEJ).
The CEJ is celebrating its 25th year supporting Oregon’s legal aid programs working for equal access to justice for all Oregonians. CEJ is a volunteer organization composed of 300 Oregon attorneys and law staff. Their mission includes educating lawyers and the community about access to justice and legal services, working with lawyer volunteers and bar organizations to increase state and federal funding for legal aid, growing foundation support for legal aid programs, and an Annual Fund Drive. Money raised from the Annual Fund Drive helps legal aid provide critical legal services to low-income Oregonians, operating office in 17 communities statewide, and serving all 36 Oregon counties.
BeanApproximately 40% of the cases are family law matters in which there is domestic violence and housing cases. About 80% of legal aid clients are women and mothers.
Last year, David and the rest of the mid-size firm committee for the Campaign for Equal Justice raised over $150,000 for legal aid and 38% of attorneys in mid-sized Portland firms donated to the Campaign. We wish Michele, David and the rest of the CEJ another productive and successful year!
